KOJU began with a single, bold vision in the mind of its founder. Growing up as a climber, she noticed a gap in the market: high-quality, sustainable climbing gear that not only performed well in the elements but also embodied modern streetwear aesthetics. This vision came to life in her garage in Salt Lake City, where she started crafting climbing pants by hand while in college. From the beginning, she had one goal—to create an outdoor apparel brand that was environmentally conscious, locally made, and designed with inclusivity in mind.

The first pair of pants we designed was not just for climbers, but for anyone who appreciated style, comfort, and durability. We aimed to merge the functionality required for outdoor adventures with a sleek, minimalist look that could transition seamlessly into streetwear. This balance of performance and fashion became KOJU’s signature style—wearable in the mountains, in the city, and everywhere in between. The focus was not only on performance, but also on designing pieces that would work for all body types, with an emphasis on inclusivity.
